About Tanta Visa Pathways

TVP exists because one question kept coming up: how do I get to the US? The professionals asking it were qualified. They just had no idea which path fit them or what evidence they needed to build. TVP is the answer to that question.

Where This Came From

A gap that kept showing up in the work we were already doing.

Jon runs two other companies under Tanta Holdings: Tanta Global Academy (TGA), which trains professionals in VA and remote work skills, and Tanta Global Assist, which places those certified professionals with US clients.

Working with professionals from across the globe, the same question surfaced constantly: "How do I actually get to the US?" These weren't unqualified people guessing at a long shot. They were certified, English-proficient, with documented track records of working with US employers. They had real profiles to work with. What they lacked was clarity — which visa category fits me, what evidence do I need to build, and where do I even start?

TVP was built to answer that question. Not as a law firm. Not as a sponsor. As the step before all of that — so when a professional gets to an attorney or a sponsoring employer, they are not starting from zero.

The J-1 Experience — From the Inside

Dr. Janice Maraviles Edwards

Dr. Janice Maraviles Edwards came to the United States on a J-1 Exchange Teacher visa. She paid the fees. She navigated the paperwork. She figured out — often without anyone helping her — what to expect, what to bring, and what nobody had bothered to tell her.

She wrote about that experience in her book, Nobody Told Me: A J-1 Exchange Teacher's Honest Guide to Your First Year in America. It is the first book in The Arrival Series — five books documenting what it actually looks like to arrive, adjust, and build a life in the US.

Her connection to TVP is the same as the founding premise: the J-1 process is navigable, but most people go into it without the honest picture of what it requires and what comes next. TVP exists to provide that picture — before you spend money on attorneys you may not need yet, and before you make decisions based on incomplete information.

What We Are - And What We Are Not

What TVP is

  • People who went through the J-1 process firsthand
  • A process-oriented team - administrative and documentation experience
  • Honest about what your profile qualifies for and what it doesn't
  • A clear handoff when your case needs legal representation
  • A connection between global professionals and the US employers and programs looking for them

What TVP is not

  • ×A law firm or a source of legal advice
  • ×A visa sponsor - we are not State Dept designated yet
  • ×An immigration consultant with professional licensure
  • ×A guarantee of any outcome
  • ×A substitute for an attorney when legal representation is what your case actually needs

Jon Edwards - Founder

Jon is a US Navy veteran with 22 years of active duty and reserve service, a Master's in Education (M.Ed.) in Learning and Technology, and a career built at the intersection of workforce development, instructional design, and process documentation. He is based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

He founded Tanta Holdings LLC around a straightforward observation: global professionals are skilled, English-proficient, and chronically underplaced relative to their actual capabilities. Tanta Global Academy trains them. Tanta Global Assist places them with US clients. Tanta Visa Pathways exists for the moment when those same professionals — now with documented US work history and employer relationships — want to pursue a path to the US directly.

That connection across the Tanta companies matters in practice. A professional who certifies through TGA, gets placed with a US client through TGA Assist, and builds a documented work history has something most applicants do not: verified professional relationships, demonstrated competency, and US employer history on paper. That is exactly what visa pathways evaluate. TVP helps them understand what they have built and how to use it.

Jon's contribution to TVP is the administrative and process side — documentation frameworks, evidence checklists, and preparation systems built from instructional design principles. Nothing more claimed, nothing less delivered.

Where We Are Going

TVP launched focused on J-1 because that is what we know from lived experience. As we work with more clients and build relationships with immigration attorneys, employers, and sponsoring organizations, the scope will expand.

The long-term goal is State Department designation as a J-1 Exchange Visitor Program sponsor — which means TVP could directly sponsor professionals, not just guide them toward sponsors. That takes time, case volume, and compliance infrastructure. We are building toward it honestly, not claiming it before we have it.
